I see SP5 is available for download now... I can't seem to find the release notes anywhere though... Anyone have a link for that?

    Thanks

Yes -there has been a problem with this. The US team should have the release notes up by tomorrow. If there is a delay in getting these up, I'll see if we can post these here directly for those who are champing at the bit.... ;-)

Yes no support. But actually I have a problem after the upgrade of DS 6.9 SP4 to DS 6.9 SP5 : the bootdisk creator and specially the PXE Configuration Utility have a problem with the WinPE. The application hangs and crash : you have no resume, cannot load drivers...

I reinstall the DS, the PXE, and so : the same problem.

To fix this problem, before upgrade your old DS 6.4 to DS 6.9 SP5, copy the file "Bootwiz" and rename to "Bootwiz_sp4".

    Upgrade your DS 6.9 SP5.

At the end of the upgrade, rename the "Bootwiz" file (contains BootWiz.exe version 6.9.9331.435) to "Bootwiz_sp5".

Now, rename the folder "Bootwiz_sp4" to "Bootwiz". That's all. Now you can edit your WinPE Boot disk. We wait a patch ASAP to fix the Bootwiz SP5.

My server is a Dell PowerEdge 2850. The OS is Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard Service Pack 2 (French).

It's so hard to find anything since the switch over to Symantec.  Where is the SP5 download located?  Can somebody give me a link to make my life easier?

Is there a best practice guide or similar available on how best to upgrade to a new version of DS please?

Just to say I made a test on a virtual machine with Windows Server 2003 R2 Service Pack 2 Standard Edition (French) + SQL Express 2005 and I have the same problem than my Dell PowerEdge 2850 W2K3 R2 SP2 + SQL Express 2008 R2.

On my virtual server (any domain joined), I setup directly the DS 6.9 SP5. After create a WinPE boot disk creator thaht you use for your deployment.

you will find that the time to list all drivers is abnormally long. On the other hand, when you enter your ID name, domain and network mounted drives, you will find a summary like this.

You can see that it is empty. This is the same place when you edit an existing configuration boot WinPE or MS-DOS.

The problem comes from the application BootWiz.exe.
To resolve this technical , I kept the folder "Bootwiz"DS 6.9 SP4. After upgrade, I renamed the folder "bootwiz" updated "bootwiz_sp5. Then I pasted the file "bootwiz" from the DS 6.9 SP4.

Now you can get a summary of your settings WinPE, DOS, Linux.

We've just upgraded to SP5 to fix AD roaming profile issue on Vista desktops.  Issue is fixed but new issue created with DS Console.  Logged-on user information is now not refreshing for Vista (XP ok) and looks like this old issue http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH41082.  Currently have a support call logged with Symantec.
