I'm currently working on a NS7/DS7 implementation for a customer and am having some post scripted OS install issues. The scripted install completes with no issues, the Altiris agent installs as do all the sub agents, including deployment agent
Due to no %assettag% token support in DS7.1 I have a custom vbscript to get the asset tag and then rename the computer. The script works if I deploy as a quick run task once the agent has installed, but doesn't work as the next step in my deployment job. The deployment job has the scripted XP OS install then a reboot to production then run script task to rename the computer. It looks like the script task is never even attempted.
Am I not being patient enough and should wait for the task to run (I have left the computer for 30 minutes) or is there really a problem? Has anyone else observed this issue? It wouldn'r have anything to do with collection membership update intervals would it?
I also have an issue where a custom cmdlines.txt is overwritten regularly. This must be happening on a schedule but for the life of me I cannot find wwhat schedule or how I could configure a custom cmdlines.txt through DS.
Any ideas would be appreciated
