  • 1.  Duplication in the client logs Altiris 7.1

    We are experiencing a mass of duplications in the logs on the altiris client side.

     

    I need to find a resolution as this seems it should only appear once.

    To view the issue right click on the altiris client and select Symantec management agent

    Select Task history button

    We have several tasks that are to detect if the software is installed and if it is not to install it yet there are duplications.

     

    It appears to check twice or more for each when the machine comes up.

     

    Please let me know what to check in order to eliminate the duplications.

    Any idea of why the duplications are occuring on the client side for a managed delivery task that should check for software upon boot up and not again?

    The detection check is successful??  Could you post a screenshot of the schedule part of the managed software delivery?

    I think that this was fixed in 7.1 SP2 v3 hotfix rollup.  You'll have to contact support to get this package.

    Client Task Agent shows multiple running tasks. No new tasks accepted.

     

    However, if this does not address your issue I've also seen this behavior when you have your checks (or tasks, or anything really) to start on 00:00.  Make sure that you have NO policies or tasks set to 00:00... instead, make them occur at 00:01.
