    Hi

Trying to install new server to replace failed hardware using recovery file and setup says that the file is missing some required settings and that these settings can be replaced by default values. If I press yes it asks for all the info required during a normal install.

Old server Windows 2003 - New server 2012 r2 datacenter.

The new server has the same name & ip adress as the old.

Please read before posting standard things like procedures, manuals etc.

I have 3 management servers connected to SQL.

Don't need to restore backup I use SQL for all of the menagement servers.

I am just trying the setup with the recovery file option so the server can be connected immediately to all the clients the old one served.

Do you have a copy of the server private key (.jks and .xml files. Not the recovery file)?

If yes, as the database already exist, you may install the SEPM as a new partner and attach the SQL database to the new SEPM (without using a recovery file), then login to SEPM and then import the server certificate (in Admin-Servers page). This should make the clients to communicate with the new SEPM as they did early.
