I've installed Symantec Encryption Desktop 10.3.2 on Windows Server 2012 R2 and rebooted.  It appeared to work fine.  I created a Virtual Encrypted Disk, mounted it, etc.  I then rebooted and logged in again, and I get the installer asking for PGPDesktop.msi and trying to install again.  has this problem been seen before?  The server runs Remote Desktop Sessions (terminal services), but this should not matter, I'm loggin in is under admin on the console.

    Hi kenw232,

This looks like Windows is attempting to repair the product.
Have you installed the package for all users? Installed from the local disk?

Place the package in a location accessible to all users in the local disk and point this location next time it asks for the msi location.

It appears to be the lack of shortcuts.  After installation all I do is delete or rename the "Symantec Encryption" folder at C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\StartMenu\Programs and if its missing upon reboot it will try to install or I guess repair like you said..  I put it back with its shortcuts and reboot and all is fine, it does not try to reinstall.

This is pretty extreme considering its merely some shortcuts I'm moving.  The shortcuts are forced to be there then?  There has to be a way to stop this behaviour?

I can remove the PGPTray.exe shortcut in Startup without it trying trying to reinstall.   I installed it for all users, from and to the local disk.

I made a video of the problem if you want to see it in action.

    Hi kenw232,

So, that's it, Windows is attempting to repair the application.
I'm not aware of being possible to modify the installation without triggering the repair.
Perhaps you can controlled via GPO what is available or not to users (I've never tried).

Thanks for the help.  I try to find another way to fix it I guess.
