Hello all , DLP version is 12.5.1 runnig on RHEL 5.9. Symantec Messaging Gateway is being used for sending emails in the envoirement. Following errors/issues encountered while sending emails to outside network to external domains. As per default email limitation policy, 30MB of email size is allowed to send external parties and currently undelivered email size was 24MB after extracting.

This is a known issue and below is the relavent Symantec Tech article on this issue

I want to know is there any settings in the Advance server settings in DLP Email prevent detection server that is preventing or limiting the email size that the DLP Email Prevent server can process , if yes kindly share the setting which I can increase to make the DLP Detection server process larger email size i.e (25 MB).  What is the maximum default email size that the DLP Email Prevent can process and how can I increase it ?

    Regards,

In the Network Prevent Email Server, please see the server settings "ContentExtraction.MaxContentSize". By default it is set to 30 MB.

Thanks for your reply. NDeen this is the default settings which were already in place.  The issue was fixed by increasing the Outbound session timeout value to a higher number on the downstream MTA and the issue was resloved. Thanks
