Endpoint 11 - my latest Virus definitions, etc... indicate Dec 31, 2009.

I tried doing live updates and it tell me everything is up to date although the virus definition, etc. were from Dec.31, 2009.

    I just find this strange

    Thoughts?

I second PPobega's observation. I barely remember a day passing without new definitions, much less a week.

For what it is worth, I get my Endpoint 11 through work and I uninstalled it and then downloaded and reinstalled it, just in case there was a new version or some end of year glitch and my first update on the reinstalled version also showed 12/31/09 as the most recent definitions.

I third the problem.  I also noticed that up until today the Latest Symantec Version (as opposed to definitions) was also 2009-12-31 rev 118.  Today it is 2010-01--07 rev 024.  Perhaps tomorrow we will get new definitions.

I have 3 unmanaged clients, so they get their defs straight from Symantec liveupdate, and they all have shown the same behavior. I have even watched Liveupdate run, and it tells me it's downloading the and applying the latest updates. However, in the end, the dates don't change.

Unmanaged clients and Clients retreiving their definitions directly from Internet ( Symantec Liveupdate )
Will show the current date 8th Jan. as it was fixed today.
However clients retreiving their Defs from SEPM will still show 12-31-2009 till the fix is rolled out.

Patch for RU5 SEPM is posted on LiveUpdate Servers

Symantec Endpoint Protection Engineering has confirmed that the patch that enables MR5 SEPM to download content dated 2010 has successfully posted to our LiveUpdate servers.  Please note: it will take a total of three LiveUpdate cycles to prepare the SEPM, download the patch, and begin using and distributing 2010 definitions.   If you have manually configured their SEPM not to download the patch via LU can apply the patch manually using a standalone tool.  For more information about the issue and the patch, please see the following KB document:
