    We have a client site with 12.1.3 running. 90% of the PCs are receiving a Symantec Endpoint Framwork crash when logging in. The shield disappears from taskbar but SEPM reports them as connected with green dot.

    Have tried reinstalling manually and via SEPM with no change. Windows 7 (mostly 32x) clients affected.

    One thing to note is we used SEPrep to remove Trend Micro from all Pcs as part of the original push install. Trend Micro removed successfully by the look of it. Subsequent installs have not used the SEPrep modification to the package.

    Haven't found much on here about it, any experienced anything similar?

    We have a few mcafee machines and I know they use something similar called "FrameworkService" I believe.

    Have you tried a repair of the SEP client? Or Cleanwipe?

    Did you search the registry for any traces of mcafee.

    Ive searched for Mcafee and no reference, sure they only had Trend Micro on previously. The crash screen is definately related to Symantec Endpoint Framework.

    Haven't tried cleanwipe yet as can;t locate a download link. Will raise ticket with Symantec to get it if people think thats the fix.

    yea sorry, meant trend. Try cleanwipe. you need to contact support to get it

    I have just run cleanwipe on one of the PCs and it ran through fine. Push the latest client out and still getting the framework crash.

    Error logged in EventViewer is:

    As per articles this issue are resolved on SEP 12.1.3 but issue still available you can contact to symantec support

    A pop-up error message is displayed stating that 'Symantec Service Framework encountered a problem and needed to close'

    Thanks James. Going to install 12.1.4 to see if that resolves it. I had some success by pushing out just basic protection but Id rather everything be fully protected.
