Endpoint Protection

  • 1.  Endpoint and AVG 8 for clients on the same domain.

    We are bringing a computer lab that is using Endpoint 11 for its anti-virus onto the domain. The organization is using AVG Network Edition 8 for clients on that domain. The Symantec clients are running Vista, and the AVG clients are running XP Pro SP3. The Servers are running Server 2003.
    Will this setup be problematic?

    I wouldn't have thought so aslong as clients only have one or the other, Network scanning is disabled and exceptions are made in the firewall policy for AV and SEP's executables.

     

    I would however incorporate all onto the one vendor as soon as possible for ease of administration with perhaps one stand-alone client having the other vendor. ( It may detect threats that the other doesn't? )
