I have Endpoint version 11.0.4202.75.  After installing Skype all of my internet activity was blocked.  I uninstalled Skype and rebooted and that restored my internet.  Is this a known issue and is there a work-around for this?  I'd really like to be able to use Skype.

    Hi,

As you mentioned yourself after uninstalling Skype, the network connectivity was restored. Its highly possible that someting could be wrong with that program itself.

You can troublehoot your internet connectivity using the steps below:

    Hi,

In such a similar issue you can check a few things if they are successful or not. For example:

Is the NIC showing MAC adress?
It is able to get an ip from dhcp
    check success for the following:

    ping default gateway
    ping dns
    nslookup symantec.com
    tracert symantec.com

I am sure the issue can be isolated in such a manner.

You can also refer to the following article:

There's no known issue with Skype and SEP that will block network connecting or connectivity.

Delete all Skype files and folder and install it again. If problem is still there try removing network threat Protection component of SEP from Add/Remove Programs -SEP- Change-Modify

And see if that makes any diffrence if yes then may be firewall has somethingto do with
However you can also check the SEP firewall traffic logs and find out what and why is it blocking..

Are you the end user or Admin for the system? If you are the user, your company's admin may have a host integrity policy in place that switches you to a quarantine vlan when certain applications are detected.
