    Hello, when I login to the server that has the Endpoint Security Manager installed, I recieve an error message and cannot figure out what is wrong or what to do about it.  Here's the details.

    Error Message Box: Symantec CMC SmcGui has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvencience.  For more information about this error, click here.

    After "Clicking Here":  Error Signature: AppName smcgui.exe    AppVer: 11.0.2010.7    ModName: unknown   ModVer: 0.0.0.0   Offset 6b565e33

    From Event Viewer:   Faulting application smcgui.exe, version 11.0.2010.7, faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x6b565e33.

    Any ideas or advice are greatly appreciated.

    It seems that you have SEP MR2. please upgrade to the lateset version. SEP 11.0 RU5

    Hi Chuck,

    "Faulting application smcgui.exe, version 11.0.2010.7"  - that's SEP 11 MR2 MP1.  The current release is SEP 11 RU5.  You might very well be affected by an issue that has been fixed in subsequent releases.  Check this out:

    Error: "Symantec CMC SmcGui has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

    What I did to resolved this issue is uninstall then install the latest version of SEP.

    Below are the reference that helps me address the concern.
