  • 1.  Endpoint long initialize time

    Hallo.

     

    Im hoping to get a little help here. Our small buisness endpoint protection (cloud) have done great and we have been very happy with it.

     

    But recently we got this new softphone system and we are getting some troubles with the symantec software.

    The softphone gets information from outlook on our computers, and becuase symantec sometimes takes around 1 minute to "find" itself (establish connecting to cloud and such), outlook dosent see an antivirus on the system before its done.

     

    And then our problem occurs. Becuase the softphone gets information from outlook and the antivirus aint ready we get this popup on the computer.

    We could avoid it by chaing security settings in Outlook, but thats not an option.

     

    Do you have any idea why symantec need to take so long time to initialise. of you start outlook after its connected to servers. all's good.

    Is there a timeout that can be configured in Outlook?

    This error is issued by Windows, so it is not necessarily because SEP takes a long time to initialize.

    Possible solution for you may be found here: https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/320795-outlook-2007-windows-not-recognizing-that-a-valid-antivirus-program-is-installed.  Item marked as "best answer" should be sufficient to fix this.
