My company uses Endpoint v11.0.6005.562. I have a Symbol Brand Pocket PC v4.2 that I'm trying to connect to a computer through ActiveSync v4.5. Before my company installed Endpoint, I had no problems connecting the Pocket PC to a computer through ActiveSync to install software. After Endpoint installation, the Pocket PC will no longer connect to the computer. The pocket PC is connected to the computer with a serial cable through a cradle. When I place the Pocket PC into the cradle or log into the computer, the two see each other and try to connect. But after a minute(?) the syncing stops and no connection is made.

I've tried different cradles. I've had Endpoint upgraded to a newer version that was suppose to correct the known problem without success. Am I missing a setting somewhere, or a conflict that needs to be corrected on the computer. ActiveSync does not have many settings, which I tried changing.

Any suggestions besides removing Endpoint (which the company will not do) would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

I found this info on the ActiveSync 4.x Troubleshooting Guide -

If you are using Symantec Antivirus, you may need to turn off the "File System Auto Protect" and "Internet Worm Protection".
