Endpoint Protection Small Business Edition

Hello,
 
 Pls i need asisstance here,  i was installing Endpoint protection on server 2008 R2 while installing i got error message these product does not support these platform. i then changed the operating system to server 2003 B2, and the installation went perfect. The question is, Cant endpoint sit on server 2008 R2?

whats the version of symantec endpoint protection you were trying to install?
i think you were trying to install 32bit on a 64bit box.
if you are trying to install on a 64bit box.then you need to run the install which is under SEPWin64 folder
run the setup should work fine.

 

Only RU5 supports 2008 R2 server.

are you tring to say that, there is a 64bit Endpoint protection? also if you are saying runing installing for 32bit is different from 64bit, then tell me how do i get to the SEPWin64 folder, as stated by you. tell me cycletech what do you mean by Only RU5 supports 2008 R2 server. i read through the link you pasted butwhat i dont understand is if Endpoint protection support server 2008 R2 then while was it giving me an error message. thanks waiting on your response....

You can download RU5 from https://fileconnect.symantec.com by using your product sl. no.
Also ensure that you ate using the correct package (32bit package on 32 bit os&64 bit package on 64 bit os) 

If you open CD1 of your symantec endpoint protection
there will be a folder called SEPWIN64 OPEN THAT folder  and run the setup.exe
earlier versions of symantec endpoint does not support win2008
its supported as a client version from MR2 ( note we are not taking about symantec endpoint protection manaager just the client version)

• so to install on your 2008 64 bit box
• open the cd1
• run the setup inside SEPWIN64

am currently far from where i can lay my hands on the serial no of the Endpoint protection. but what i'd like to know is, if i register the serial no, will i get the compatability patches for windows server 2008 R2.?pls reply

Go to the link which is preent in my earlier post,select the language then it will ask for the sl. no.Provide that.Follow the on screen instructions you will be able to download RU5 package (No need of registering ,sl. no is only for authentication)..

yeah its correct,
https://fileconnect.symantec.com
select english
put in your serial number
you will find 11.0.5
download cd1
once its done.
run the setup from sepwin64 folder will work without any issues.
