Endpoint protection says it is out of date click on fix

  • 1.  Endpoint protection says it is out of date click on fix

    Version 11.0.4000

    Open symantec endpoint protection and it says antivirus and atispyware protection definitions are out of date.

    It is a client of ours.   The date for them is aroub 4 months old.

    It says click on fix and I do that and nothing happens.

    I have ran a repair and know it has been rebooted multiple times since the date of the last definition.

    So ?

    How's your C: drive space?

    Try removing the defs and letting them redownload

    11.0.4 is an older version, this could be a product bug ,I would suggest to install the latest 11.0.7

    Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0.7 (RU7) is now available

    Well the C: drive is fine ..

    I tried doing the 11.0.7 patch.

    Doesn't show updated in the help about?

    I have restarted services

    Going to look at the clear out article next

    You can also run the symhelp tool to see what it says in terms of errors (if anything)

    it should have rolled back, Did you uninstall 11.0.4 and tried installing 11.0.7?

    You should always update to the latest version as there will be lot of fixes

    Well no I have not done a full uninstall.

    This is a server at a one server shop.

    So if I have to do that I will have to schedule something.

    I have reached out to a Symantec contact I have to see how up to date they are paid to see if I can get 12.x.

    Will see what I can come up with that way.

    You guys have the weekend to give this some thought.   :)

    About to head out it has been a long week.

    But will be back on Monday and will hopefully have some info from Symantec also about their licesne status.

    Did get lucky on this one.

    They had enough of a license for me to dowload the latest greatest.

    The upgrade went great and all is well now.

    So for this one it was upgrade to fix.

    Clicking on the fix button in version 11 never did anything.
