  • 1.  Enforce WebGUI - IE and Chrome Not Working

    Posted May 08, 2017 02:19 AM

    Hi everybory

Since when is IE and Chrome not working anymore to access the Enforce WebGUI?
IE always throws a certificate error (RC4) and Chrome is reported as "Unsupported browser" after accessing the webpage.

Firefox works, but is not a browser we support in our company environment.

    Anything we can do?

    Cheers

    Hello,

    What's your DLP version?

Chrome is not a supported browser. Try IE 11.

I managed to get over the error message in IE11 by changing the certificates for the WebGUI.

Is there any way to get Chrome running without reverse-engineering? I suppose this is an issue with the ancient Yahoo User Interface used for Enforce Administration, right?

You can use Chrome, Safari or some other unsupported browser by changing the manager.properties file.

    • On the Enforce server, go to \SymantecDLP\Protect\config
    • Open manager.properties in you favorite text editor
    • Find "com.vontu.manager.unsupported_browser_authentication = false"
    • Change "false" to "true"
    • Save and close the file

No Vontu services or Enforce server restart required to begin using Chrome, Safari or something else immediately. Chrome generally works great. I have noticed a few quirks here and there that you won't see when using IE or Firefox.

    Hi Ethan

Works marvellous, thanks. I'd rather live with a few little quirks before I have to use Firefox or IE :)
