Endpoint Protection

Hi 

we used cleanwipe utlity to remove symantec av and when we try to install the AV client , we get this error 1320 specified path is too long"

any suggestions on how can we fix this

Where are you installing from? Local or network path?

Also, exact version you're trying to install??

if the issue persists please post the sis_inst.log

Can you try to install at Custom location? 

Post the SEP_Inst.log present under %temp% directory.

installing it from local disks on the server , its a managed client setup

version is 12.1.6 RU6 MP5 build 7004 

Post the SEP_INST.log and SIS_INST.log files

Required logs for troubleshooting failed Endpoint Protection 12.1 client installations

already tried that , it didnt work 

can you post SIS_inst.log from the following location.

C:\ProgramData\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\12.1.XXXX.XXXX.XXX\Data\Install\Logs\

cannot find that exact path you specified , only could find

C:\ProgramData\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\PersistedData

please see the screnshot attached

If you've already cleanwiped the systen then the log will not be there. If you try the install again and it fails then post the logs.

thanks , cleanwipe was done on 18th august ,

when i try to reinstall symantec client i get the errors above , havent done any clean wipe today 

Can you try to install the defualt package available in fileconnect and let us know the outcome. and post the sis_inst.log if the installation fails.

tried as you suggested in your last post , i am getting a 2381 error , directory doesnt exist

I am also repeteadly seeing the same, error. 

Error 2381. Directory does not exist: C:\Windows\system32\Drivers\SEP\0C011B5C\1964.105\x64\.

 

please post sis_inst.log now.

C:\ProgramData\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\CurrentVersion\Data\Install\Logs 

This can easily be fixed with Long Path Tool program. Just download the program and rename the file. The isuue will be fixed.
