  • 1.  Error 1714 upon install of SEP 12.0

    Hi,

     

    I have an upgraded win 7 pro 32 bit workstation from vista pro 32 bit. the legacy system had SEP 11.0.

    I am now getting and Error 1714 after a lengthy install session from the client install saved to the server.

    What causes the error 1714 as there is not a running version of SEP 11.0 on the sytem?

    Do I need Clearwire? How to I get it, or access to it?  I triedin vain to use the 11.0 client with win 7 but it failed, so is there some portion of it still on this machine?  Looking at the steps to remove this manually looks like a beast with all the registry edits and hundreds of keys to remove by hand.

     

    Is there another way?

    This issue is resolved in the Cleanwipe build that is incuded in the Symantec Endpoint Protection Release Update 6 download.

    Hello,

    I agree with jodrestr.

     

    Please use the tool Clean Wipe as a last resort.

    You can use manual uninstallation procedures before:

    Cleanwipe and DCOM permissions changes solved my problems.
