  • 1.  Error executing sql query when I open a change view

    Posted Nov 08, 2012 02:16 PM

    Hi All,

when I try to open a new windows with a change (example: CM-000001) the most of the times I get an error loading the attachments. Instead of show me the  documents, it display an error that says "Exception: Error execution sql query".

The log displays the following message:

Error executing sql query. ---> System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Timeout expired.  The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding

I know the log says that the server is not responding, but it happens only in changes, not in incidents (when I open an incident it displays the attachments).

Hope you can help me, thanks. I attach some images.

    Luis.

    Hi Luis,

What version of ServiceDesk are you running? In reviewing some change logs, it appears this issue was likely fixed in a point-fix rollup for 7.1 SP2 and is also fixed in the newly release ServiceDesk 7.5

I recommend contacting Support to obtain the latest point-fix rollup if you are on 7.1 SP2, or beginning to make plans to upgrade to 7.5.

    Hope that helps!

Thanks a lot for your answer, I will contact to Symantec Support for obtaining the latest fix.

Do you know where can I see the difference between 7.1.2 and 7.5?

    Thanks.

    Luis.

You're welcome! For exploring 7.5, there are several options:

    1. There are man videos posted here in Connect by Jason Short, which demonstrate certain ServiceDesk features: https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/search?filters=tid%3A2331%20type%3Avideo&solrsort=created%20desc&retain-filters=1

    2. You can view the 7.5 Release Notes here: http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=DOC5720&key=57947

    3. You can also download a trial of 7.5. I suggest contacting Symantec Sales who can help provide the details.
