  • 1.  Error when searching networking via Client Deployment Wizard

    Hi.

     

    I get the error in the attached when using the Client Deployment Wizard and searching my network. I have enabled the Computer Browser service and ensured that Fie and Print sharing is also enabled as per: https://support.symantec.com/en_US/article.TECH97057.html

    SEPM is running on Windows server 2016 Datacenter.

    Any ideas or suggestions?

    What about the remote registry service? Is it running as well?

    I wouldn't sorry about it myself.  The Computer Browser service itself was only really needed in the NetBIOS days (https://technet.microsoft.com/pt-pt/library/cc787537(v=ws.10).aspx) and is not something I'd expect to see in use in an AD-Managed estate.  I can't remember the last time I saw anyone use "My Network Places" in a corporate environment!

    This error has no impact on the function of the CDW.  I'd recommend you just use the "Search Network" tab instead, and input machine names and ip addresses, for those machines to which you wish to install SEP.
