    Hi,

    What exact SEPM version are you using?

    Please upgrade your SEPM latest version

    LiveUpdate is unable to decompress the virus definition updates despite ample room on the system
    Fix ID: 2847004
    Symptom: Symantec Endpoint Protection client will run LiveUpdate and successfully download updated content, but occasionally cannot apply the updates. “Decompression failed for package…” errors appear in the lue.log files.
    Solution: The updated LiveUpdate Express included in RU2 MP1 updates the decompression process to use less memory, which allows the extraction to occur.

    Solution

     


    Solution - I
    1. Uninstall the SEP Client and LiveUpdate through Control Panel Add/Remove programs. 
    2. Verify that the SEP Client and LiveUpdate folders have been deleted. If not please delete the folders.
    3. Reboot the computer.
    4. 
    Reinstall SEP and LiveUpdate.
    5. Start a LiveUpdate Session.


    Solution - II
    1. Make sure that you have the latest Release of Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager Installed
    2. If you have an old release of Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager Installed so perform a Repair and check if it asks for the of Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager.MSI file 
    during Repair, if yes then provide the same and complete the repair process.
    3. Reboot the computer.
    4. Uninstall and Reinstall LiveUpdate.
    5. Start a LiveUpdate Session
