    Hi,

In our remote office, when i click on Reporting Agent Status, i get the following error: Request Failed - status code: 502

Also, on our main reporting server, the Database Maintenance agent (1.0.234.0) hangs. I have enabled tracing but i am not sure in which folder the agent logs are kept!

    Please help,
    Regards

Have you checked your proxy settings?

The answer is no. Where do i check the proxy settings? In Symantec or Lan settings?

    Thanks,

I think you shoud begin with checking in Internet Explorer -> Tools -> Internet Options -> Connections -> Lan Settings

See if the proxy setting is correct and add exceptions if needed for reporting server to function

On Symantec Console I am not sure where you can see the proxy settings or if it is needed for the reporting server. I have already moved on to the next version of Symantec (Endpoint protection)

I have checked all our remote servers and the proxy settings are the same for each one. Only one server has the problem.

This agent may be hanging: Computer Status. From Parent Server: Servername.
Its last run in reporting server time was 2009-07-15 13:00:27 (GMT). Its last run in parent server time was 2009-07-15 13:00:27 (GMT).

This agent may be hanging: Log Sender. From Server Group: Servername.
Its last run in reporting server time was 2009-07-15 12:51:29 (GMT). Its last run in parent server time was 2009-07-15 12:51:29 (GMT).

When i click on Reporting Agent Status (on remote server), i get the following error: Request Failed - status code: 502

Also, on our main reporting server, the Database Maintenance agent (1.0.234.0) hangs. I have enabled tracing but i am not sure in which folder the agent logs are kept!

    Thanks,

    Hi,

I have got a bit further with this now. I am not getting the above error messages but the log reader agent and computer status agents are not running. How can i get them to run again. Also i do not get any notifications from the agents that are running when a virus is detected or if the agents are not running.

    TIA

What do you mean by "computer status agents" are not running? If symantec is not running you can go to control panel -> administrative tools -> services and try to start the services that are not running.

If this does not work it seems that there is someting wrong with the installation. Try to reinstall.

    Hey Max,

Symantec is running, the two agents are not. These agents provide info to the reporting server. There is a difference between Symantec agents and Symantec services. Also, there is nothing wrong with the software, as it was working ok until a few months ago.

    Hi newuser,

It was a while since I worked with SAVCE and reporting server but I have checked out one of my old installs that is still active. My reporting agent runs fine even though the reporting server is not online anymore.

Did you already check this link?
