ensure firewall is not blocking the ports.

    disable the firewall and verify.

Post the scm-server0.log are you able to start the Symantec database service? Is your SEPM installed on windows XP?

    HI,

Is the communication is proper (port no 8443), from the client to SEPM?

Ensure that SEPM is working fine and you can able to login from SEPM.

    Regards

    Ajin

    #Edit

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Symantec community.

I would be glad to answer your query.

    Try the following steps

    1) Try to repair the Symantec Endpoint Protection Small Business Edition through add/remove programs

    Not helped then

    2) Go the services.msc, try to start Symantec Protection Center and Symantec Embedded Service.

    If service didn't start then

    3) Attach scm-server-0.log and catalina.out log file. Also check event viewer details.

These logs should be present under (SEPM installed drive)\Symantec\Symantec Protection Center\Tomcat\logs

    Hello,

Attach both the logs as suggested by Beepe. The maximum upload size is 250 MB.

These two logs should be lower than 1 MB in size.

one of the error is java heap size

Try these steps to increase the Java heap size

To adjust the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager heap size:

      1. Click StartRun.
      2. In the Run dialog box, type regedit
      3. Press Enter.
      4. Locate the following registry key:
        HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\semsrv\Parameters\
      5. Locate the following keys:
        JVM Option Number 0
        JVM Option Number 1
      6. Adjust the key values upward, and for optimal performance, match the key values.
For example, to create a 1 GB static heap, set: "JVM Option Number 0" to "-Xms512m", and set "JVM Option Number 1" to "-Xmx1024m".
      7. Close Regedit.
      8. Click Start Settings Control Panel Administrative Tools
      9. In the Services dialog box, right-click Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager, and then click Restart.

    Hi,

It might be possible when you start the services those starts immediately & stops after 10-15 seconds.
