    Hi All,

     

    We are facing error while installing Altiris patch management solution in database configuration page.

     

    We are getting error 'Failed to Impersonate user for database validation. Try again or contact suppport if this problem persists'

     

    Kindly assist and suggest on the same.

    I have had simmalir problems when installing, the only way is to use another account for the installation, and change it after wards to the correct account. I use the sa account when installing and reconfigure the database with the correct account after install.

    To to this, after install, open Symantec Management Console (SMC) go to:

    Settings > All Settings > Notification Server > Database Settings

    Change the option to use application identity > Click Save Changes.

    Had support case for the issue but this is not a Symantec ralm but a SQL or AD issue.

    Hi,

     

    Thanks for your comments.

    After changing the authentication to SQL server authentication, we were able to proceed with installation.

    We will change the account after installation from symantec management console.
