  • 1.  Failed to initialize UNDI

We have just bought a couple of HP ProBook 4510s. When I tried to boot with my PXE disc I got the message "Failed to initialize UNDI".
I created the boot disc from the wizard using "Network boot Package". After that i used the "Universal packet driver v2.0"
We have Norton Ghost 11.0.2 installed on a server 2003.
The machine i want clone have WIn Vista business installed.
I have had this problem once before when I tried to boot a SATA disc but then I wrote -noide as a parameter when I creted the boot disc and it has worked since except on our new computers :)

Are there any parameters I have to write when i create the boot disc or is the software out of date?

Hi we also have Pro Book 4510

I tried to add a ndis dos driver for the probook (yuknd.dos) driver into my boot disk.
I sed the ghostboot disk  network boot disk option and added the new ndis driver and pointed to the files that I downloaded from the marvel website.
The first floppy disk boots up without errors and bind the new driver. The I insert the second disk that loads the ghost.exe
We use Ghost 8.3 and when Ghost starts up and I choose the Ghostcast option.

I get an error intitializing packet driver and ip address. It asks me to create a ghost.err file.  My network is setup and has worked with all other drivers and servers that I ghost.

Any help would be appreciated or exact steps to make this work.

I have HP elitebook 8730w's and I'm experiencing the same thing. When I get to the ghost console  i get an error intitializing packet driver and ip address.  I am booting to ghost through a drive key that works with my other laptops.  I've put the correct driver.  is there something to do with the packet drive thats keeping it from working?  and if I need to insert -noide, where do I put it?  please help me, i've been going crazy for two days now. i'm using Gss 11.
