check this document, change the registry value and do reboot

    Message: "Event ID 1000: Faulting application Rtvscan.exe . . . faulting module ScsComms.dll . . . " appears in the Windows Event Viewer

Try this only on one client machine

Go to C:\WINDOWS\system32\if msvcr80.dll  check if it exsist

if it does not then you can either copy this Dll from a machine on which this dll is present and paste it in

    C:\WINDOWS\system32

Secondly you can download this Dll online and copy it in C:\WINDOWS\system32

Stop and start smc service or reboot the machine one and check if event log still appears for

    msvcr80.dll

Note : Do not try this on server machine should be client machine

This is referencing version 10 and

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Intel\Landesk\VirusProtect6\CurrentVersion\Product Control

which does not exist in version 11.

    Thanks

    Hello,

What Operating System are you facing this issue on?

You might want to Look at a Symantec KB Article:

Symantec Endpoint Protection client crashes with Faulting Application Rtvscan.exe, faulting module msvcr80.dll.

I personally would recommend you to open a Web case with Symantec Tech Support:

You can log a case on web portal:

Note: Make sure you are prepared with the Full Memory Dump for Indepth Analysis along with Symantec Support Tool Log to understand the root cause.
