scan is cruising along, and then I get "FINDNODE: FindNextFile failed: 0x20000000".
have tried repairing file system, deleting last file scanned, to no avail
Exact SEP client version?
If Linux, I found this article:
http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH232528
Appears to have been fixed in SEP 14.
If you can't upgrade, there is a workaround:

Thanks for the suggestions. It's not an NFS mount, and rather than exceptions I just deleted the files that it failed on.
Trying again after a few deletes.
After a few more occurrences of this error, after which I deleted the files preceding the error, I finally got to a full scan of my system. There must be a bug, though. It looked like renaming files sometimes worked, but (fortunately) by the time I got around to that eperiment I was close to completion so my sample space is small.
I only see this error if I turn on debugging for rtvscand. It sure looks to me like a scan stops when this error is encountered, but unless I have debugging enabled I couldn't tell the difference between a scan that completes normally and one that is short-circuited by an error?
