  • 1.  Firewall Rule for EVDO Connections

    Posted Apr 28, 2010 05:59 PM

I'm somewhat inexperienced with setting up rules, so hopefully this isn't too dumb a question.

I am attempting the setup a rule to block certain traffic when connected through a built in Verizon EVDO adapter.
I see how to block the program, and I see how to specify a specific adapter type.

What I cannot figure out is
    1. Which option an EVDO adapter is going to be considered?
    OR
    2. What information I need to put in to Add an adapter type under "Adapter Type" and  "Adapter Identification"

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

To add a custom network adapter the default list:
    1. In the console, click Policies > Policy Components > Network Adapters.
    2. Under Tasks, click Add a Network Adapter.
    3. In the Network Adapterdialog box, in the AdapterType drop-down list, select  Wireless adapter.
    4. In the AdapterName field, optionally type a description.
    5. In the AdapterIdentificationtext box, type the case-sensitive brand name of the adapter.
To find the brand name of the adapter, open a command line on the client, and then type the following text:
    ipconfig/all
    1. Click OK.
You can then add the adapter any firewall rule.
