I uninstalled Symantec  Endpoint Protection (good thing I was able to obtain the password!!), but there still remains "footprints" of Symantec  Endpoint Protection.  sad

For example, if I go into Control Panel, then Notification Area Icons, and scroll down the list, there is still an entry for "SmcGui.exe, Symantec Endpoint Protection File System...".

How do I get rid of that????

Use autoruns tool from sysinternals. With the help of that you will be able to find all the traces of sep inn your system. ou can delete them.

check the files in the install directory. check if liveupdate is still installed.

    Hello,

There are few things to check.

    1) Do you see any Symantec Application under Add/ Remove Programs?

Liveupdate, LiveReg, Liveupdate Administrator, Reporting Agents, etc

    2) In Control Panel, if you see Symantec icon's, did you try Right Clicking them and clicking on "Delete"?

    3) Check under the C:\Program Files\Symantec, do you see any folders?

    Make sure you delete them.

Please use the tool Clean Wipe as a last resort.
