Hi am new to laptop encryption and wanted to uderstand a couple of thins

    1) What are the advantages\ disadvantages on installing just the bitlocker module as against the full blown symantec encryption suite ?

    2) is it even possible to have just the Symantec bitlocker element or do we need to have the full blown suite

    Many thanks

Are you talking about Bitlocker as built-in for Windows? If so, then Bitlocker is great for standalone laptops, or if you want to perhaps manage from a Microsoft perspective.

SEE is enterprise-class software and will allow you to manage a wide-ranging number of products in your organisation.

The article below is from a 3rd party so bear that in mind:

Many Thanks for your response . I was actually thinking of using if possible Symantec Endpoint Encryption to manage all our laptops with Bitlocker as built-in for Windows . We are a predominately windows 10 house and looking at a cost saving exersise . We currenlt y have SEE delpoyed accross the estate and looking at reving the agent accross the estate but still keeping SEE manager to manage  laptops with Bitlocker .

Just wondering if this is possible and what disadvatages we will be facing ? I take it if its possible we dont need to have the SEE client installed

Also the capabilities for SEE manager to perform remote management of clients with Bitlocker
