  • 1.  Ghost Console does not see Ghost client...

    Hi there,

    I'm new to Symantec Ghost software, have been trying to get it up and running and have ran into some trouble.

    What I'm trying to do, to start with, is set up this software in a small workgroup. I've installed the Symantec Ghost Console (7.5.0.335) on one machine and the Ghost client on another (both machines running XP Professional). The installation of both the Ghost console and the Ghost client were apparently successful. The "Symantec Ghost Client Agent" is running on the client machine. The Windows Firewall is stopped on both machines. Both machines can see each other via the workgroup but the client machine does not appear in the Ghost console.

    Can anyone offer me some basic pointers as to how I can troubleshoot? (e.g. LAN settings, virtual partition creation??) Any help would be very much appreciated.

    Hi David,
     
    Since you say it is a small workgroup, I assume that it is in the same subnet so most of the network related stuff should not be a problem.
     
    By any chance do you have the client and server in different subnets? Are they connected through a switch?
     
    Could you check if the client service is running in the client machine?
