  • 1.  GHost Freezes when "Adding MFT Table File to Image"

    Hi Everyone
     
    Not sure if anyone can help me but im having trouble with taking a ghost image of a fujitsu siemens laptop. The laptop has a fresh install of Windows XP professional and relevant software such as office 2003 installed. I can boot the laptop up with my ghost book disks and set the laptop to ghost but as soon as this is done the laptop freezes and in the bottom left hand cornor it states "Adding MFT Table File to Image".
     
    I have been adviced to use a program like disk keeper to defrag the hard disk and MFT at boot-time. I have done this and still have no luck in resolving the problem. Does anyone have any ideas?

    Hi,

    Ghost freezing when "adding mft tabel" does not necessarily mean that it is facing an issue with rading the MFT table. Actually, most likely it is not the problem. What it means is Ghost was reading the MFT table when it froze.

    What version of Ghost do you use? And where did you store the image? If you press Ctrl+C at that point, by any chance does it create a Ghosterr.txt file?
