  • 1.  Ghost32 image restored from spanned DVDs (created from WIN PE2) - Ghost32 freezes

    I am having an issue with Ghost 32 (Ver 8.2.0.1117) and Windows PE 2 when restoring a ghost image spanned over 2 DVDs

    The ghost32 program freezes (says finished restoring NTFS volume and 2 MB remaining) . I have to hard reset the machine at that point.

    The machine runs fine after the rebooting (runs sysprep and minisetup etc). The same ghost images work fine with PE2 imaged from a network drive or via DVD iso images mounted in VMWare.

    The DVDs are created using Windows PE2.

    Any ideas???

    Hi,

    Ghost 8.2 was released a while ago, and there could be issues when used with Vista PE.

    However, where do you have Ghost32.exe? By any chance is it in the DVD you replace? It should not be a problem since PE2 boot to a memory image, but I have seen similar things happen with earlier versions of PE when CDs are changed.

    My issue has been resolved. Version 11 of Ghost32 works properly with Windows PE2 when restoring from DVD. This version also has support for Windows Vista
