  • 1.  Green Dot not appearing on SEP Client Shield

    Hi guys i just want to confirm that if the client machines OS is deployed via a cloned image (SEP agent is not installed on the base image)  if the same base image is installed on like 30 machiens and later we install SEP agent on each machine would it cause any problem ?

    At the moment green dot is not appearing on the SEP shield , though on client I can see that it is connected to the SEP server and on SEPM console in clients tab I see that client is showing connected and last time status change is also recent.

     

    What could cause the greendot not to dispay on the shield keeping in mind that in Help > Troublehsooting it is showing as connected to the SEPM server.

    Open a run prompt and type smc -stop, wait 10-15 seconds and type smc -start. See if that corrects it.

    Thanks for the reply Brian. Do I have to repair HWID as well for the above mentioned scenerio ? though SEP agent was not installed on the base image when it was redistributed , so I dont belive it should cause any problem or would it ?

    Secondaly for larger number of clients can we do it via some script to recycle the service ( are you aware or any publicly available script ) ?

    Ideally speaking it shold not be creating any issues as the Base image didn't have sep installed in it. But to be sure copy the hardware I'd from registry and search it in sepm to see if sepm is displaying the same host name and ip

    Shouldn't need to repair hwid. There are scripts on technet but I'm away from a pc and can't link.

    Hi,

    As everyone said there shouldn't be an issue because SEP wasn't part of base image. Verify Windows firewall is ON or OFF. In case it's ON need to make necessary exceptions.

    Do you see any duplicate Names, IP address in the SEPM console? However there is a SEPM repair tool also to remove duplicate hardware id's if any.
