  • 1.  GSS 2.0.1 client disconnected: polling for bound server

    I am having more problems with disconnected clients today.  In the consol several clients status appears as disconnected.  On the client machines the log file is reading "polling for bound server".
     
    After client install on Friday everything appeared normal and conected untill today.  No changes were made to the client, server, or network.
     
    I can ping the server from the client machine and I browse to the server on the network from the client.
     
    In the logs from yesterday it shows the successful connection to the server via IP Address where as in the message polling for bound server it is looking for machine name rather than IP...is there anything behind this?
     
    We just rolled out GSS last week and are trying to get it into a stable state to alow us to run nightly backups of our client machines.

    You have done liveupdate so that you are running GSS 2.01 ?

    I fixed this one myself...
     

    Solution:

    In Windows Firewall on the client - File and Printer sharing was not selected.
