  • 1.  GUP in groups and subgroups

    Posted Mar 24, 2009 10:54 AM
    Hi all.

I have had to create sub groups for all my groups so that servers can be placed in here which will have a different scheduled scan time assigned to it.

The problem is that this server will be the GUP for that site; will it still act as a GUP for the clients that appear in it's parent group.

for example - We have a group, Amsterdam, in here every device on the Amsterdam network would appear. now we have a subgroup appearing under 'Amsterdam' for servers. The server in this subgroup was a GUP for all the clients when it was in the parent group.....Will it still update these clients with definitions?

    Many thanks,

    Mark.

it will install the clients if you use the same LU policy.
well you can change the policy but point it to the odl server.
GUP doesn't have to be in the same group/ou as it's client(s).
