  • 1.  GUP server name conflict

    Posted Feb 10, 2017 11:19 AM

    Hi All,

I have changed the GUP server name from AAA to BBB and IP address is not changed.
I have found both the records AAA and BBB in the console.Issue is the old record AAA is still showing as GUP and new record is not showing as GUP.
I have not done any changes apart from GUP server renaming.

My requirement is, Group Update Provider should be TRUE for BBB record.
Please let us know how to do.

Have you deleted AAA from the SEPM console and forced a new check-in?

No, I have not deleted as it's Group Update Provider record is still TRUE.

But it's the same server? Did you also update your GUP policy to reflect the name change?

Yes, it is the same server. Can I delete the old record (AAA) ?
Since the GUP IP is same, I have not done any changes on the Liveupdate policy.

You can delete it from SEPM and force a check-in on the client immediately after.

I'd just make sure your policy has been updated to reflect the server name (if that's what you use).

Check the globallist.xml file to see the GUP which is active , if it's not reflecting the correct one just de deselect and enable gup role

    Hi Brian,

    Thanks for your support.
Unfortunately, I'm unable to mark your suggestion as Solution. I'm getting only two options (Reply, Mark as Offensive).
