When I "extract" files using ghost explorer, is this basically the same thing as "restoring" the image?  In other words, if I were to boot from the second hard drive, would it work.  I just don't want to have to mess with the network and all, ie putting the second hard drive into another computer...actually I know it'd be more complicated than that, but again I am just wondering if extracting using ghost explorer is the right method or if there is another method for me to restore the image to the second hard drive.  Thanks in advance(and with your answer I will hopefully be finished!)

The image is from another computer on the network.  But I fear that extracting the image to the second hard drive on this computer is not similar to "restoring" the image due to how it handle hardware changes.  A comment on this too if possible, thanks again.  Thanks for offering this forum for support.

    Hi there!

ghost explorer is ONLY used to edit/modify an existing images ..NOT to deply images.

If you already have an image which u think is ready for deployment, simply use Symantec Ghost Console.

create a task to deploy ...existing image and test it on a machine.

    try this product tour.

Thanks for trying to help, Farhan, but I want to deploy the image to a second hard drive on the computer.  I did read the help/instruction manual that instructed on how to do this through DOS, but I was wondering if there was, you know, a newer way to do this rather than going to DOS.  I think of it like I do with sysprep, which is an old outdated way to create in image.

    try this ..

I used vmware to try your scenario ... in my case it worked.

i made an image of current system (PC1 i.e ImageXP1)

Cloned it on 2nd hard drive(Primary Slave) of PC2 with Deploy anywhere option.

after installion, changed boot sequence (2nd Hard drive) and it worked.
