  • 1.  Hiding the Management Agent tray icon

    I'm trying to install the management agent on our Citrix XenApp servers. Whilst the agent installs successfully, I'm unable to hide the icon in the system tray. I've pushed the agent out via the management console, ensuring that I've unticked the "System tray" check box under "Display Symantec Management Agent in the:" but the icon is still there. I've manually installed the agent on a server with the command line switch -a /NOTRAYICON too, but again the icon is still in the system tray.  Am I missing something?  Thanks.  Phil

    Hi Phil!

    Seems like "Show client tray icon" is enabled in "Targeted Agent Settings" policy, therefore agent receives this change on next policy request and starts to show tray icon

    Check this setting from SMP Console

    If Igor's suggestion doesn't apply you should look at this:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Altiris\Altiris Agent\
    And set the "Run UI in main session only" to "1".
