    Hello all; My question is pretty simple. How can you add a custom file or .exe to the Symantec console and designate it as virus. I thought it would be useful to use Endpoint Protection to assist me in blocking the usage of files that are not deemed part of the daily business needs of users like toolbars, widgets and the sort. Is there any way to accomplish this?

    I've tried the application and device lockdown module, but was never able to get it working properly.

    Unfortunately the App and Device Control is the only way I am aware of to block programs using Endpoint. I have included a step by step below that you can use to set this up or you can give us a ring if you need further assistance:

    Hi,

    If you have a requirement of allowing a certain number of programs, blocking everything else, you can use the feature called as "System Lockdown".

    Here, you will create a list of applications that are allowed. Everything else is blocked. File fingerprinting is used for this purpose.
