Hello, I would have question regarding Symantec DLP 15.0.

We have three tier environmet instalation, which started only as Endpoint Prevent. Later licence was added for network discover.

Now I wanted to setup discover target, but scan status is UNASSIGNED and it looks like it doesn't see any discover server. Detection server has only Endpoint type/role.

Should I delete Endpoint detection server an re-add it as Networ and Endpoint. Will be agents connected to Endpoint now affected anyhow after re-add?

Or should I add same server (address) with network role/type?

Or is reinstalation of detection server needed?

Servers and detectors page overview is attached.

Sorry for stupid questions, I'm totally new to this product.

    Thanks for answer

    Jan,

You need to understand how the system works.

    Endpoint Prevent
Network Discover/Protect -- THIS IS WHAT YOU ARE TYRING TO USE.
    Network Monitor
    Web Prevent
    Email Prevent

Are all different types of detection servers and they require THEIR OWN SERVER. When you install the SW for a detection server, you will then click the ADD server button in the overview page and provide the IP or hostname and then designate it as the server you would like (Aslo licensed for)

Once you do that you can then select what server is used for Discover.

So you will need to build a new server, install DLP SW and then Add it from the DLP UI.

Then the discover target will automatically use the only one you have.

    Good Luck,

    Ronak
