  • 1.  How do clients learn about Service Alerts ?

    Posted Nov 02, 2016 03:59 PM

We use  ClientNet  >  Support >  Service Alerts   to learn about various issues at Email Security.cloud.

However, we need to logon to ClientNet to see any new or updated items.

Some time ago we posted an idea that said -- the Service Alerts should be sent to clients via email.

How do other clients learn about new/changed Service Alerts ?

Do you logon to ClientNet "once per day" just to check on that ?

    Thanks

    Hi Mike

Thank you for contacting us concerning this request. However for Service alerts and upcoming changes you will need to log on to the portal, however with service alerts and planned changes I would say you would only need to check once or twice a week as any improvements or changes/downtime will be give notice of at least a week if not more. Or if you do notice problems with your .cloud product then possibly log on to the portal to see if a recent one has been posted that may explain a service or outage issue.

We do have a SMS service which will message upto 5 recipients should any critical announcements need to be sent out. The details of how to set that up are below.

    Kind regards

You can receive SMS alerts to inform you of critical announcements about your security services. For example, we can send you an alert to notify you of a delay to our services.

Depending on how the portal is set up, you may not be able to set up SMS alerts.

    To receive SMS alerts
    1. Select Support > SMS Alerts.

    2. Choose from the Global settings drop-down list:

      • To receive SMS alerts for all domains on the same telephone numbers, select Global settings, or

      • To receive SMS alerts for a specific domain, select the required domain name.

    3. Enter up to five telephone numbers on which to receive SMS alerts. Include the country and the area codes.

    4. Click Save and Exit.

Thanks for the Reply and Information.

Your repsonse is similar to what I have heard several times, over years of asking this same question.

We do use SMS alerts.    However, they are not our preferred mehtod, and from what I have seen are only used a few times per year.   (I guess that is good news in terms of few really critical problems.)

It still just seems very confusing why sending notifications via email is a problem for any company...but especially for an "email company".

There are plenty of examples of Service Alerts that would be useful to us if we were notified earlier.

We do not want to "spend 2 hours" and then decide we need to check on ClientNet.

However, I am still interested to hear what other clients are doing.

    Thanks

    Hello Mike,

I apologise that the current service alerts mechanism doesn't fit your requirements but the only option is to logon to the portal to view the alerts so this is what other clients do. Some clients consider that a service that handles email delivery to their organisation is a critical service and therefore will logon to check the alerts briefly, say once a day but of course this is each clients perogative.

    Kind regards,

    Mark
