  • 1.  How do I create a customized (default) active scan on an unmanaged client for all users?

I have created a custom scan schedule from the local administrator profile for a SEP unmanaged client. I was hoping that the scedule would be the default scan for all users who would log on to the particular notebook. What I have noticed however is that the scan schedule only runs for the local administrator profile but not for another user who has a domain profile and in fact the custom scan name does not appear in the list of active scan names. How then do I create a customized active scan that would be the default scan for anyone who uses the particular notebook? Thanks.

I'm also wondering the same thing.

There are 2 of us using a PC. Our custom scans are only accessible to the one who created the scan schedule. We can do this with a managed client. But unmanaged clients cannot be administered with the SEP management console.

I guess unmanaged clients places full responsibility to the user.

I have not tried this but as a workaround, can you create a group for the laptop computers and then do the necessary setttings like liveupdate from liveupdate server/schedules, scheduled scans.. But of course not all the time it will report to SEPM. Treat the group as a managed group but of course with different settings and configurations.

    Try the following.

Do a policy in SEPM with the custom scan and settings that You want.

Then export installation packet with the policy and setting and check Export an unmanaged client and check Computer mode.
