  • 1.  How to ghost HP tablet to USB stick

    Posted May 26, 2017 06:48 AM

New to Ghost (used it many year ago !)

Just downloaded trial. All I want to do is to image an HP tablet fresh out the box before blatting the HP recovery partition to test with SCCM

At the end of testing use USB stick to restore original system as was

So Ghost and the image need to be on the USB stick

Hopefully a straightforward question - if you just point me to correct docs thank you

You will want to follow the steps in Randals forum post to make a usb bootable disk.   This will need to be standard tools not console.   Make sure you have installed standard tools.    This is important if you use the console then every thing changes.

    https://www.symantec.com/connect/articles/creating-boot-media-ghost-standard-tools-30-and-windows-10-adk

You will then take this disk and boot from it to perform your capture and restore of your image.

    Once booted.

Ghost64.exe will launch and you can perform a disk > To Image job.
Select your proper source Disk (not disk 80)
Select your proper destination drive (usb disk)  provide a name for the files.

to restore your image run the steps in reverse
boot to the usb disk Ghost will launch perform a disk > From image.
    ect.
