I have a server running a windows 2000 server and it has installed Symantec antivirus version 9.00.338.  This installation was made with  unmanaged option.

How can I change from unmanaged to manage option without reinstall the software Symantec Antivirus??

    regards

    HI betoco

if you  have installed the client unmaged then from the client browse to the server by   \\ipaddress and open the vphome shared folder and look for GRC.DAT file .Copy the GRC.DAT file and paste it to the following location on the client.

    C:\documents and Settings\all users\application data\symantec\symantec antivirus corporate edition\7.5

(some folders are hidden so select "show hidden files"  to open open the above location)

within 7.5 you can paste the GRC.DAT file and restart the pc . after some time you will see the parent server name on client antivirus and all the polices will be transfered to the clients.

Hope this will solve your problem.

Please mark solution if this works for you.

No need to restart the computer just restart the symantec services.

Replace the GRC.Dat and rook certificates and re-start the services.
