    Hi Kümmerer,

There are multiple ways to "migrate" or change the SMP Server to a new Windows 2012R2 Server.

Would you like to preserve your existing SMP Server Hostname and IP Address?

Which SMP Version are you running?

Will the CMDB Database stay on your existing Server? If not would you also migrate the DB?

Would you like to keep your existing DB? Or would you like to create a new DB and Export Data from the old DB and import it to the new DB?

Which Suite are installed? Client Management Suite, Server Management Suite, Asset Management Suite?

You could also take a look at the following Documentation:

In my opinion, the easiest method is to build the new server, run the setup config for the SMP and point it to the existing database.  If you have packages sitting on the existing SMP, then I would move the packages to the new SMP before running the setup.

In that case, must the new server have the old hostname? Or will the new server provide his new hostname to existing clients?

When installing the solutions via SIM in a new server, using the old DB, you are asked for the FQDN and the URL for the console.

If you choose to change the FQDN, make sure to send a script changing the agents' Notification Server using AeXAgentUtil.exe /Server: https://support.symantec.com/en_US/article.HOWTO5511.html.

Best scenario when changing the FQDN is to maintain a new and an old console (two different dbs) at the same time, and after redirecting the agents, you can dispose of the old NS.

If you choose to maintain the same FQDN, there are no further steps.

Also, don't forget to have your KMS keys https://support.symantec.com/en_US/article.HOWTO93182.html.
