Endpoint Protection

I have a computer that was formerly used to log in to work from home. It has Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition loaded on it, I would like to uninstall it completely to allow for installation of NIS 2011. The Symantec AntiVirus is program version 8.0.1.429 and scan engine 4.1.022.

Is there a Removal Tool for this product? I have been to the Norton forums, I know about the Norton Removal Tool for Norton products, the forum moderators there didn't think it would work on this product and suggested I go to the Symantec Connect site.

I know there is the Control Panel / Remove Programs method, but I am sure this will not completely remove all the hooks that Symantec has into the computer, there always seem to be Program Files or registry items left over.

Is there a tool to completely remove this old program?

Yes, there is a tool called Cleanwipe, but  it is only available through support...You can try removing  using, windows  installer  cleanup utility, and  see. This is available on google.

what is the Operating System? as you are looking for the removal of sav 8.0.X version, hopefully this URL will help you

Add/Remove programs is always the best way to remove SAV or any program only if it fails use cleanup tools or manual removal.
