I'm working with a new installations of Altiris eXpress Deployment Server 6.9 (build 365).   The problem I have is in trying to re-capture an image on a server after making changes minor changes in the hardware configuration.    It appears to go through it's paces but then fails with a 'unable to boot to windows automation' (error code 116).    This is for both a Windows 2003 R2 SP2 Enterpise 32bit & 64bit versions.    Working on HP c7000 enclosure and Bl465c G5 blades.   Anyone have an idea?   Thank you in advance.

    dcubert,

Welcome to Connect.  I'm not sure as to the exact cause of your error, but you may want to check out the following web page to see if one of the solutions there can help you: http://h18006.www1.hp.com/products/servers/management/rdp/knowledgebase/00000052.html

    Hi dcubert,

I have seen that issue before when the boot order changed on my servers.  To boot into Automation the NIC must be in the IPL Boot Order BEFORE the hard disk, this way if Altiris ever needs to boot the computer into WinPE for example it can do so.

There are other reasons why this may occur so if you are still having trouble update this post with some more info and we can take a look.

    Regards,
    Mark.
