  • 1.  HTTP 412 error from IE8

    Hi there,

Has anybody seen an HTTP 412 (precondition failed) error from IE8 clients after yesterday's Live Update from 120811b or 120811x definitions? I have a site with that's using XMLHttpRequest to merge an HTML page into another and that request is throwing the 412 error now. Worked all morning (and for 2 years prior), but last night it's hosed.

    Configurations:
    Windows 7, IE8 - breaks
Windows 7, IE8 run as Administrator - works.
    Windows 7 FF - works.

Only thing new is the virus definitions. No Windows update has happened for 2 weeks. Web hosting company's IE8 and FF work fine. Got some old machines with XP and IE6 and IE7 that work fine.

That said, is there a way to back out definitions to see if that's what it is?
