Two of our company's workstations have been infected with the "System Security" virus. It is a nasty one and will not let you open the Control Panel or Task Manager. I could not disable it. I copied the "My Documents" folder from the infected computer to a test computer and it infected that one too.

I finally found a program called Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware on the Internet and it seems to be able to remove the virus after you install it in safe mode. However, I am pretty disappointed that I spent all the time and money installing the latest Symantec Endpoint Protection on all of our computers and it did not protect us at all! I have spent many hours working on this.

Well, let me greet you with the standard answer to this question found on these forums.

"have you submitted a sample of this virus to Symantec yet?"

You can find plenty of forum posts like yours saying why didn't SEP detect this or that.
Unfortunately it's somewhat of a norm around here ):

    Well said bjohn. :D

Paul: What is the filename of the virus you found?
Another follow-up question is if your definitions are up to date and if you've updated the SEP client, just to end that argument.
